Digital Still Technology

JVC's new GC-S1 sets a new standard in the world of digital still photography. Immediately setting this digital camera apart is its bright F1.6 lens- with 180-degree swivel mount - and 10x Optical Zoom This zoom allows you to make close-up pictures at full resolution, so there is often no need to enlarge digitally at a later stage, a process that will degrade the high quality of the VGA pictures. There's also a built-in flast for indoor or night use. And everything from focus to white balance is automatic.
Bright 1.8" LCD Monitor
Whether you are taking or reveiwing pictures, the active-matrix TFT color LCD - adjustable brightness settings - offers a beautiful display. It can also switch to monochrome speed mode* (for a higher refresh rate), useful for close-ups and shooting moving objects.
Power on the Move
Designed with an emphasis on portablilty, the GC-S1 operates on AA batteries; for extra convenience, NiCd batteries can be used. To help conserve power, you can select a power-save mode that automatically switches off the camera if it is unused for more than a minute.
Veiwing on TV
In addition to veiwing your pictures on LCD you can hook up the GC-S1 to your TV and put on a show for family and friends.

Infrared Cordless Connect Link
The built-in infrared (IrDA) interface allows simple, cable-free transfers to printers and other periphals with an IrDA reciever.

High Capacity Memory
Your photographs are stores within the camera's internal 4MB flash memory. This is sufficient for 30 fine-mode pictures, 50 stand pictures or 100 economy-mode pictures. You can expand storage capacity by inserting a CompctFlash card (sold separately) into the GC-S1, which has a slot for that purpose.
